William Sweet CFP®

Bill is the Chief Financial Officer at Ritholtz Wealth Management and is responsible for the guiding the firm's finances while building, maintaining, and monitoring certain clients’ financial plans. His specialty and focus of his career as an investment professional is on minimizing the devastating impact of income taxes on investment returns. 

Prior to joining Ritholtz Wealth, Bill was the President of Stevens & Sweet, an accounting and tax preparation firm located in Tuxedo Park, New York. He led the Tuxedo Chamber of Commerce from 2008-2015 and was the Treasurer of the Tuxedo Park Library from 2012-2017. 

Bill served on active duty in the United States Army as an Armor Officer for six years from 2002-2008, and was awarded the Bronze Star for valorous action in combat as an M1A1 Abrams Tank Platoon Leader during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He spent three years at Fort Knox, KY, as a basic training company commander, and today takes care of clients with experience gained from leading soldiers. 

Bill holds a degree in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He volunteers as Treasurer of the Tuxedo Park Library. His wife, Jayme, is a high school English teacher. Bill & Jayme are new parents, welcoming their first child, Samuel, in early 2017
